Privacy Policy

The Short Version

We don't store your data. gratu has no servers or databases. Your journal entries, photos, and personal information are stored only on your device and, if you choose to enable iCloud sync, in your own personal iCloud account managed by Apple. We cannot access, read, or retrieve your journal entries.

Information You Provide

• Name: Optionally provided to personalize greetings. Stored only on your device and your iCloud account (if sync is enabled).
• Email Address: Optionally provided to receive occasional updates. This is the only data sent to an external service (ConvertKit).
• Journal Entries: The gratitude entries you write. Stored only on your device and your iCloud account (if sync is enabled).
• Photos: Images you attach to entries (Pro feature). Stored only on your device and your iCloud account (if sync is enabled).

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Location data
• Device identifiers or tracking data
• Analytics or usage statistics
• Contacts or calendar data

Data Storage

• On your device: All journal data is stored locally using Apple's secure data frameworks.
• In your iCloud: If you enable sync, data is stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. This data is encrypted, owned by you, and managed by Apple—not by us.
• We have no servers: gratu does not operate any servers or databases that store your personal data.

Third-Party Services

• Apple iCloud/CloudKit: For optional cloud sync (data stored in your account)
• ConvertKit: For optional email updates only

Your Rights

• Delete all your data by deleting the app
• Disable iCloud sync anytime in Settings
• Unsubscribe from emails via the link in any email
• Request deletion of your email from our mailing list

Children's Privacy

gratu does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page.
